There's certainly no confirmation right now, not that we haven't actually tried to get one, but what do you think? Will you be getting the complete series if it does come out in Bluray, and what types of extras would you want to see included as part of this new edition?
Let's hear your comments!

that the blu-ray is not lost to us. That it speaks to us, as part of something greater than us, greater than any SD force. And if FOX is powerless now, I want to believe that if they listen to the Philes speaking, it will give them the power to put all 9 season on blu-ray.

I would love to get the complete series on Blu Ray. I haven't got a player yet but do plan on getting one. What would be even better would be for The X Files-Fight The Future to be released on Blu Ray here in the UK and Europe!
Not being released

I can confirm through Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment there are currently no plans to resist seasons of The X-FIles on Blu-Ray.
Fox does do not cite a reason, but this is likely for financial/technical reasons - all special effects sequences in The X-Files (several per episode) were created and rendered in SD.
These shots CANNOT be upscaled to higher definition without the expensive and time-consuming process of recreating all these sequences from scratch.
The DVDs were created from the original digibeta masters - Blu-Rays cannot, which is true of most television series in the 90s.
This listing on Amazon actually hurts DVD revenue streams as some consumers will hold off until Blu-Ray, which is not coming.
